This post isn’t about Taco Bell. Because
and I would never advise you to go on a Taco Bell cleanse. But for the record, I found myself in dire straits every time I ate at that fine establishment. I can’t understand it—their food is of the highest quality, bar none.
I live in the country. There are no bathrooms on the hour-long drive home. The overwhelming need to let the contents of my stomach leave my body hits me with urgency while I’m partway home. Sometimes, this ends with me having a Tailgate Meeting1.
While the Taco Bell Cleanse will clean your colon to a degree, the detox strategies we discussed in the video are more about removing toxins and contaminants from our modern lives, hopefully in a gentle fashion that doesn’t involve pain and screaming.
Here are a few of the substances we have building up in our bloodstreams and cells, causing damage and disease:
Chemicals from body care products like deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste
Black mold spores and undetected mold in food products
Heavy metals in the water or food we ingest
Additives like food dye, chemical flavoring, emulsifiers, etc.
Environmental toxins such as lead, mercury
Inhaled toxins like forest fire smoke, vehicle exhaust, air pollution
The toxins we choose - alcohol, gluten, sugar, diet sweeteners, prescription drugs, recreational drugs
Don’t go on some random chemical detox that your work buddy suggested, where you drink a chemical cocktail that forces a massive purge and damages your guts. There are safer ways to get the job done.
Here are a few detox methods we discuss in the Live Video:
Drink enough fluids! The body can’t flush out toxins if it’s dehydrated.
Eat liver and gut-supportive foods like bitters (arugula, cilantro, dark green veggies), dandelion tea, etc.
Support the microbiome with sauerkraut, kombucha, and probiotics so that the stomach and intestines function properly.
Reduce your processed food intake. Eat the rainbow, not the toxic Frankenfoods full of chemical flavorings, emulsifiers, and stabilizers.
Try a juice cleanse with home-prepared vegetables and fruits.
Movement and massage can help the lymph system remove toxins and fight disease.
Consider a detox such as Natron, described by Orry in Detox Part 2: Gut Reset with Natron.
Fasting can help your stomach heal and let your body eliminate toxins such as heavy metals collected in the fat cells.
Did we say DRINK MORE WATER? Yes. We did.
If you have a few minutes, watch our Live Video and let us know your thoughts!
