Loved this conversation. The thing that rang in my head was the ability to be empathetic with yourself and to create balance in our lives. I struggle at times to go too hard on myself when it comes to eating which often creates a counterweight of shame and regression if Iβm not sticking to my strict diet.
Such great information on finding your balance when it comes to food. I also think one thing we can not dismiss especially when it come to food and emotions and balance is that dopamine hit that comes when we eat certain foods. It creates that craving and the want for more. And figuring out how to manage those highs and lows.
Absolutely. I talk about the neurochemistry a bit in my book. That's why certain foods feel so good, they give us the rush or the comfort that we're seeking. Noticing that craving and meeting it in other ways helps.
You hit the nail on the head with that dopamine hammer. No one over-eats raw avocado, pork chops, or green salad, because those foods don't activate that pathway in our brains.

Great talk!
Yeah, you canβt be too strict on yourself though or youβll get the boomerang effect and swing the other way. Thanks for watching, Mac!
