I’ve been intermittent fasting for around 17 years before I had ever heard of it. I was never hungry in mornings and found myself most days eating one large meal around 4pm called my “snake meal” 🤣

Snakes only eat a couple times a week so every few days I’d consume a huge steak or a whole rotisserie chicken. Now I understand why I always felt so good when I stick to a 16 hour fast, 8 hour eating window. It is just natural now. Great article.

Thanks for the feedback, Kerry! I’ve heard of the “snake diet” before. And I have eaten an entire rotisserie chicken too lol

As someone who fasts religiously all I can say is it does get easier the more you do it because you'll find your stomach shrinking over time and naturally eat less food. I love intermittent fasting and I wish more people knew about it, not just for the weight loss, but for all the health benefits it adds:)

Such terrific information, Tim! I started IF a couple of weeks ago. I definitely feel better when I'm consistent with it, and hope to see long term results.

Maintaing muscle while losing fat, I call it a win-win.

I`ve been doing it for over 3,5 years. Lost 18 pounds over the stretch of a couple of months and I keep it off.

So it`s true what you say, we were made for fasting.

Thank you for the great article.

I love IF. The times I’ve fasted for an entire day have been extremely beneficial. I feel it resets my whole system. It’s like unplugging and replugging my computer. Hehe.

Thanks for this informative post. I'm inspired to do this but I cannot afford to lose any additional weight. I'm as thin as I want to be. How can I do this while maintaining or even increasing my weight a little?

That’s a great question. Everyone’s body is unique, so it pays to eat intentionally and know what you want for yourself! If you were to start small and only put breakfast off a few hours, your body would benefit.

As long as you eat enough during the meals you do have, you shouldn’t lose weight. I can gain weight myself while intermittent fasting.

Another way to make sure you maintain weight is bodyweight and muscle building exercises.

I’m in your same boat Victoria! The key for me is consuming a higher fat diet, lower carb diet and sneaking in extra calories with occasional whole cream in coffee, pure olive oil salad dressings, avocados with lunch. As Tim replied, I also make sure to do some weight lifting for muscle building. The intermittent fasting hasn’t caused any weight loss, but has completely fixed my digestive system.

Thanks Kerry! That's all great to hear. I definitely need to get back into strength training and weight lifting.

Thanks for the comment! It tends to get easier the longer a person does it. It can definitely work magic over time
