We are essentially 2 meals per day and sometimes one meal per day. We have done 44 hour fasts (water, coffee electrolytes only) every other day for 3 weeks. That will put your ketones into 2+ range for me at least and my glucose in the 80s. During eating we're primarily carnivore. All of my joint pain is gone. We walk 3 miles per day in our 70s. It also curbs your food noise for sweets and treats of any kind. Food is not entertainment anymore.

Jim, you hit on an important point. If food is your main source of entertainment then you will be at risk of gaining weight and having all sorts of problems.

I’m glad to hear your joint pain has vanished.

So the choices could be as simple as, live in pain and eat with abandon, or choose to eat intentionally on a schedule. I’m not a fan of pain and reduced mobility myself, I would rather feel good than splurge constantly on food dopamine fixes.
