Hey Tim, happy to see you took time off. The last 2 weeks have held some really challenging dynamics with my neighbours and unfortunately the kids my son played with all summer now ignore him because one adult canβt get her shit together (just to clarify, that one adult isnβt me). Yesterday I bounced on the trampoline with my son. MAN was it a work out. And also we giggled like crazy and it relieved some stress. Not all, but some.
Bouncing on the trampoline with your son sounds like the perfect reset, laughter really is its own kind of medicine (but I would have peed my pants π€£). Glad you got that moment together.
Im sorry you've been having a rough time. It does happen to the best of us and the you did the best thing you could've done....STOP.
For me, getting outside is the answer to everything. I felt like "screw it" last weekend so I got in my car and went to the mountains. They were the answer.
I love that!!! mountains really do have a way of putting everything back into perspective. Nature is the best doc for me! Sometimes βscrew itβ is the healthiest choice we can make.
Good post! Iβve also not been writing lately- too much going on and I donβt want to feel pressured to get something out. Taking a break from *whatever* is a gift! Glad you took time to recharge!
The pressure to produce βcontentβ is a real downer. Very anti-creative. Iβm not fully recharged yet, but Iβve reorganized and Iβm ready to get back in there!
Iβve had that same experience of thinking I was fine until suddenly I wasnβt. Itβs encouraging to hear you came through it and are feeling better now, it gives me hope on the tougher days.
Glad to hear that youβre working through it all. I think itβs good to keep in mind that unless Substack really is paying the bills other things take priority.
Thatβs definitely true. And even if it were paying the bills, any electronic world is kind of imaginary, isnβt it? It only has the amount of meaning that we assign to it.
Sometimes life happens and we all need to get back and focus on the things that really matter. Of course we did miss your presence here and am glad that you are back on track. Thanks for always keeping it real.
Glad you're back and feeling less overwhelmed, Tim! And thank you for sharing the steps you took to keep it all together when life goes in a different direction.
Thanks! You never know when sharing our story can help someone or let them know theyβre not alone in life struggles, so thatβs part of my motivation for writing.

Nice to see you back!
Getting into nature helps a lot. Iβll be at the lake this weekend, grounding out in the sand and water.
Ahhhh I'm envious!! Enjoy π

Amen!!!
absolutely 100% true; after reading your comment a couple of hours ago, I just had to go out to or waterfall for a skinny dip. It was sooo fresh and nice π€© thanks for the inspiration!

Exactly!
I'm glad to hear you say you haven't written lately because I felt guilty the other day for not having checked your stack in weeks!
Hahah! Traveling so much and many moving parts so hope to be back on it soon!

Yeah, it really snuck up on me. Hope youβre having a great weekend, thanks for the comment!

Excellent point
Welcome back, Tim. Sounds like you did all the right things to get where you are.
Thanks, Maria.
Welcome back buddy.
Thanks, Adam!

Thanks, Danni! I feel like change is in the air on Substack. This is a good time to be present and active.

Thatβs rough when adult problems spill over on the kids. I wish I had a trampoline right now lol
